SURFACE PREPARATION
Concrete Surfaces
New Painting
- All surfaces must be clean, dry, free from dust, dirt, chalk, laitance, efflorescence, rust, grease, oil, and all other foreign materials
- Allow new concrete to cure and dry completely for at least 28 days with a moisture content of less than 15% and a Ph level below 10
- To neutralize and remove efflorescence, treat surfaces with Davies DV-100-X Concrete Neutralizer diluted with 16 parts water to 1 part DV 100-X. Apply by brush or mop to wet surface thoroughly and dry overnight. Rinse with water and dry.
Repainting
- Remove mold and mildew growth with Davies DV-500-X Mildewcide Wash Solution. Rinse with water, dry and immediately apply the recommended paint system to prevent regrowth of mold and mildew.
- Repair uneven surfaces with Davies DV-5000 Concrete Putty or Davies DV-5-900 Liquid Tile Cast.
PAINTING SYSTEM
Application Direction
For EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System) application:
Step 1 - Apply WALLART Textura Adhesive (EIFS adhesive mix) directly on the Styrofoam material using a diamond trowel on random areas. Make sure to cover all corners and the center area.
Step 2 - Install the Styrofoam directly on the concrete. Press thoroughly and ensure that it is properly adhered. Allow to dry overnight.
Step 3 - Apply WALLART Textura Adhesive (base coat mix) on the exposed side of the styrofoam using a steel trowel. Install fiber mesh on the surface while the base coat is still wet. Apply WALLART Textura Adhesive (base coat mix) using a steel trowel to finally fix the fiber mesh in place. Dry thoroughly for at least 24 hours prior to application of topcoat.
Step 4 - Apply WALLART Textura Fine or Coarse Top Coat in the desired color using a stainless steel to finish.
For Direct application to bare concrete:
Step 1 - Apply WALL ART Textura Adhesive as (base coat mix) using a stainless steel trowel to make the finish even. Allow to dry for at least 24 hours before applying the top coat.
Step 2 - Apply WALL ART Textura Fine or Coarse Top Coat in the desired color using a stainless steel to finish.
