Davies WALL ART Textura Adhesive/Basecoat is an acrylic-polymer based adhesive and basecoat blended with cement used to attach Polystyrene boards to acceptable substrates, embed fiberglass mesh over Polystyrene boards, and improve adhesion of textured coatings to various substrates.

SURFACE PREPARATION
Concrete Surfaces
New Painting
- All surfaces must be clean, dry, free from dust, dirt, chalk, laitance, efflorescence, rust, grease, oil, and all other foreign materials.
- Allow new concrete to cure and dry completely for at least 28 days with a moisture content of less than 15% and a Ph level below 10.
- To neutralize and remove efflorescence, treat surfaces with Davies DV-100-X Concrete Neutralizer diluted with 16 parts water to 1 part DV-100-X. Apply by brush or mop to wet surface thoroughly and dry overnight. Rinse with water and dry.
Repainting
- Remove mold and mildew growth with Davies DV-500-X Mildewcide Wash Solution. Rinse with water, dry and immediately apply the recommended paint system to prevent regrowth of mold and mildew.
- Repair uneven surfaces with Davies DV-5000 Concrete Putty or Davies DV-5-900 Liquid Tile Cast.
PAINTING SYSTEM
Application Direction
For EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System) application:
Step 1 - Apply WALL ART Textura Adhesive (EIFS adhesive mix) directly on the Styrofoam material using a diamond trowel on random areas. Make sure to cover all corners and the center area.
Step 2 - Install the Styrofoam directly on the concrete. Press thoroughly and ensure that it is properly adhered. Allow to dry overnight.
Step 3 - Apply WALL ART Textura Adhesive (base coat mix) on the exposed side of the styrofoam using a steel trowel. Install fiber mesh on the surface while the base coat is still wet. Apply WALL ART Textura Adhesive (base coat mix) using a steel trowel to finally fix the fiber mesh in place. Dry thoroughly for at least 24 hours prior to application of topcoat.
Step 4 - Apply WALL ART™ Textura™ Fine or Coarse Top Coat in the desired color using a stainless steel to finish.
For Direct application to bare concrete:
Step 1 - Apply WALL ART Textura Adhesive as (base coat mix) using a stainless steel trowel to make the finish even. Allow to dry for at least 24 hours before applying the top coat.
Step 2 - Apply WALL ART Textura Fine or Coarse Top Coat in the desired color using a stainless steel to finish.
