Clear Lacquer
Davies Hi-Solids Dead Flat Lacquer is a premium quality nitrocellulose-based lacquer formulated as a clear protective finish for wood. It dries to a smooth, dust free finish that is tough and durable. It exhibits excellent resistance to checking and cracking, and has a wide application in furniture, cabinets, door panelling and trim.

SURFACE PREPARATION
New Painting
- All surfaces must be clean, dry, free from dust, dirt, chalk, laitance, efflorescence, rust, grease, oil, and all other foreign materials.
- Sand wood surface until smooth to touch with no slivers or rough edges. Dust off and wipe with a clean rag.
- Patch all holes and imperfections with Davies DV-25 Paste Wood Filler Natural or Davies DV-77 Laxtite for clear varnish finish. Use Davies DV-790 Speedglaze Lacquer Putty for Duco finish. Sand smooth and dust off.
Repainting
- Use Davies DV-300-X Strip-eze Paint Remover to aid in scraping off old paint.
- Patch all holes and imperfections with Davies DV-25 Paste Wood Filler Natural or Davies DV-77 Laxtite for clear varnish finish. Use Davies DV-790 Speedglaze Lacquer Putty for Duco finish. Sand smooth and dust off.
PAINTING SYSTEM
Wood Surfaces
Stain: Apply one (1) coat of Davies Oil Wood Stain
Primer/Sealer: Apply one (1) coat of Davies DV-701 Hi-Solids Sanding Sealer
Topcoat: Apply two or three (2-3) coats of any:
- Davies DV-702 Hi-Solids Clear Gloss Lacquer
- Davies DV-703 Hi-Solids Dead Flat Lacquer
- Davies DV-704 Hi-Solids Water White Gloss Lacquer
