Forget the guesswork. Just use our handy guide to calculate the right amount of paint for your project!
To help you measure the total area to be painted in sqm, follow the 3-step guide below.
Assess the size of the area you want to paint. Have someone help you measure the width and height of the walls or surfaces using a tape measure (use meters as the measurement unit). Multiply the width and height to get the total surface area (sqm or m2).
TIP: Indicate separately the measurement of the areas per color or type of paint you are planning to use.
Repeat Step 1 to measure the surface area of windows and doors, and then add them all up.You will then subtract the total surface area of these elements to the surface area of your wall to get the total painting surface area.
Multiply your total painting surface area by the number of coats you need. Usually, you will need at least two coats. Consult the paint label for instructions.
TIP: We recommendincluding a little extra for touch-ups.
